The main theory behind this game really disturbs me to no end.
Basically, The main characters, no, everyone alive at the time are ALL clones, and none of them know it. None. They walk around living life normally. They know these beings exist that “haunt” them and try to kill them/possess them. These things are called shades… What disturbs me the most is the fact that near the end of the game the main character finds out hes a clone and that the shades are are “ghosts” of the clones trying to reclaim their body.. Ages ago, a pandemic broke out to the extent where scientists had to find a way to preserve the victims life.. the way they found was to separate the body from the soul and create a clone as a host for the soul. The clones began having their own sentience. They fought back. They thought they were alive. They thought they had souls. None of them did. After they died there was nothingness (In this dimensions logic of afterlife). But what disturbs me is not all of this, but how it pertains to reality, our life. It makes me think, Are we real? Or are we all fake. Are ghosts just images of our past? Are they the REAL us? Am I fake? At times I look at my hand, and feel as if this body never even belonged to me. As if it’s just waiting for the real owner. As if I’m just keeping it warm. Who knows.. as far as I’m concerned, I’m Alex.. I think.. As far as I’m concerned.. I know what love is.. what hate is.. what joy and sadness is.. I know these things, I feel these things.. so what am I? What are we? Really? When people lose their lives, when people lose their comprehension… When people lose control of their very bodies.. It’s all explained with science.. But I believe there’s something deeper then that, Something we as man will never know..
